Westinghouse LD-3255VX Review

I picked the Westinghouse LD-3255VX because of the reason that it consumes less energy, got an ultra-slim profile and has a dazzling picture.  All of these make Westinghouse LED HDTV quite versatile and is fit for any space. The vivid details and brilliant color deliver high-end TV viewing experience and its lightweight design allows it to be unobtrusive as well as ideal to be hanged.
With a LED backlit display, this HDTV exudes elegance. It is incredibly light, and weighs only 14.55 lbs.

Westinghouse LD-3255VX

Westinghouse LD-3255VX’s progressive technology for scanning delivers images that have less flicker and finer details. Also, it offers 3D reduced noise clarity and stable video with advanced color purity. This HDTV has multiple inputs through which I can enjoy on the screen various types of media. With the help of its video inputs and 2 HDMI inputs I can connect to the TV tuner, DVD player, Blu-ray player, camcorder, or game console etc. The input for TV Tuner allows me to connect to my cable box. The USB port which comes along with this unit could be used for many USB devices and also for photo sharing. This HDTV backs audio amplification, this way it could be connected easily to my computer and can be used as a PC via VGA cable.

Westinghouse LD-3255VX has a very innovatively designed LED which utilizes energy that is lesser than what the 60-watt bulb would use. And since it is also very lightweight, it has a very small carbon footprint. The units are packed in recyclable cartons and the printing on the boxes are done with inks which are soy-based. The Westinghouse LED HDTV has got 1 year warranty.

What I got in the Box?
Westinghouse 32-inch LED HDTV, screws for its base, TV base, power cord, remote control, AC adapter, user’s manual, quick-connect guide, warranty brochure, warranty card.

Westinghouse LD-3255VX has got a 32-inch widescreen and has a resolution of 720p. It is equipped with technology for progressive scan and also has 3 dimensional noise reductions. It has 3D enabled adaptive comb and double HDMI inputs.  It also features VGA interface, composite input, TV tuner, USB interface. To be very honest here, the Westinghouse LD-3255VX is a successor of the former model. When I tried comparing this unit to its former model I found not too many differences.

Westinghouse LD-3255VX Review – pros and cons

Here is a quick look at things that I liked and did not like as much:

Likes

  • Very thin (around 1.5 inches)
  • It exceeds the Energy Star requirements and rates 5.0
  • The LED edge is lit
  • This unit is perfect for gaming purpose
  • The price is good
  • It is not at all heavy as compare to other HDTVs

Dislikes

  • The colors are not that vivid
  • I am disappointed with the shade of black in this unit
  • There is signal loss most times
    • It has a very restricted viewing area

Westinghouse LD-3255VX Review – Final word

I remember when I went in to the store to pick out a TV for my son. I had seen it along with the other LCD TVs which were sitting on the same shelf of the store. There was the same channel on all the TVs as usual and it was very easy to make comparisons. I saw the price and was under the impression that Westinghouse LD-3255VX simply belongs to some nameless brand; I did not like it at all! It was later that I noticed the word “LED” on it. I could not believe y eyes at first, because the other LCD HDTVs by Vizio, Samsung etc were all very expensive and the Westinghouse model was under $400.
I am not a specifications fanatic when it comes to electronic gadgets; a basic LCD TV that makes use of fluorescent lighting on its edges so that it shines when the TV is on is good enough for me.

I am very much aware of the kind of reviews that Westinghouse brand received in the past. I still went ahead and bought the Westinghouse LD-3255VX. I cannot say that I am 100 percent happy about my decision but I am not unhappy either. My kid doesn’t complain at all because he doesn’t really care about any of the details other than cartoon network. So, from the pricing point of view I feel that this TV is ideal for kids. Unfortunately, this TV can’t be recommended for living rooms. The unit is otherwise real easy to set up; all I had to do was screw some screws in the base. And then, I plugged the set into my kid’s bedroom wall and it was set.

I bought the LD-3255 8 months ago. One of the HDMI ports has stopped working completely. I am under warranty but they tell me I have to ship it back FEDEX to Westinghouse at my own expense, they have 10-15 days to get it back to me. If it was larger than 32 inches, they would have a repairman come to my home. Who wants to pay to ship 15 pounds FEDEX and be without TV for up to 3 weeks???!!! I’ll never buy a Westinghouse again.

Generally this tv is a 2nd or spare tv. but i feel your pain. electronics break all the time and it’s just a luck of the draw ( or unluck of the draw).

I had a vizio that had issues 3 months later and my panasonic I’m using now in my bedroom has some issues.

just make sure to get an extended warranty and buy the entire purchase on your Amex (you get additional warranty coverage)

This is a really great review and exactly what I was looking for. I know that no HDTV is going to perfect, so I’m very aware of all the ups and downs that are possible. My DISH co-worker said that she had her Westinghouse for a few years now and it is still going strong. She also said that the picture with the HD programming free from DISH looks amazing on the Westinghouse. That is why I’m checking out reviews today. I’m still unsure about what HDTV I’m going to get but Westinghouse is still on the list since I have read some great reviews!
